RmKV Silks doesn’t just sell handloom Kanchipuram silk sarees, it’s also an award-winning manufacturer and innovator in the field. This is not well known beyond its primary market of Tamil Nadu. National Handloom Day presented the perfect opportunity to increase awareness of RmKV’s manufacturing expertise across India, while also celebrating the skilled artisans who craft its handloom silk sarees.

A spotlight on skill

‘Hands behind the handloom’ was a series that documented the many people and processes involved in handcrafting an RmKV Kanchipuram silk saree. The 7-minute video was supported by blogs and website content.

Connecting the weaver and wearer

On social media, we created interview reels with the artisans themselves and promoted the series through interactive content. ‘Hands behind the handloom’ didn’t just create a differentiation for RmKV in the category, but also left audiences with a greater appreciation for the craft of handloom weaving.
